About the Role
NES Fircroft is placing a CAPEX Construction Category Specialist on a 1-year fully onsite assignment in Raleigh, NC, supporting a major client's supply chain function with roughly 20% domestic travel. The role demands a strategic procurement professional who can independently own end-to-end sourcing for complex construction categories across a large capital project portfolio, operating with minimal oversight in a matrix organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop, plan, and implement Supply Chain Management (SCM) strategies focused on optimizing costs, quality, delivery, and reliability of suppliers for an assigned category or group of categories
- Ensure execution in accordance with Company, SCM and Supply Base Management instructions and procedures
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers, trends, and best practices within the CAPEX construction industry
- Ensure identification, investigation, and selection of appropriate suppliers focusing on quality, delivery, cost, and sustainability
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including supplier selection, negotiations, and contract management
- Manage planning and tracking of procurement activities, cost budgets, emerging country spending, savings forecasts, and relevant KPIs
- Implement effective sourcing strategies using the Continuous Improvement Process Sourcing (CIPS) process in line with business strategy
- Minimize risk regarding quality and financial exposure by contracting in accordance with quality and commercial procedures
- Adapt the corporate contractual framework to local business needs
- Provide ongoing oversight and contract management with suppliers
- Maintain standard terms in purchase contracts and terms and conditions in line with company directives
- Ensure HSE, regulatory, and quality compliance in all project phases
Qualifications
- BA/BS in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Real Estate, Finance, or related discipline
- 3 to 5 years of experience in large-scale CAPEX Construction projects and Strategic Sourcing
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing category strategies
- Good understanding of technical categories in capital projects: building services, process equipment, construction, and technical contractors
- Outstanding organizational skills to manage multiple activities in a matrix organization
- Project management and execution skills
- Strong knowledge of MS Office tools including MS Project and MS Excel
- SAP Ariba knowledge is an asset
- Superior negotiation skills in an intercultural, multi-business environment
- Multi-lingual (Spanish or other foreign language is a plus)
