About the Role
Halliburton's Baroid division is seeking a Chemical Scientist in Georgetown, Guyana to support research and development of drilling fluid products and oilfield chemical solutions. This laboratory-based role applies chemistry principles to develop new and improved products, processes, and procedures under the guidance of senior scientific leadership. A strong opportunity for scientists looking to contribute to the upstream oil and gas sector in a growing market.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine research and experimentation under the direction of Scientific Leaders, Scientific Advisors, and Team Leaders
- Apply theories, principles, and practices to develop new and improved products, processes, and procedures
- Document progress in laboratory notebooks, reports, procedures, and designs
- Follow the chemical hygiene plan and current HSE laboratory safety standards
- Communicate with technical client personnel to address customer needs
- Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations in performing assigned duties
- Participate in professional societies and industry knowledge sharing
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Science, Geology, Petroleum Engineering, or similar discipline
- Experience with chemical hygiene plans and HSE laboratory safety standards
- Residence in Georgetown, Guyana is mandatory
