About the Role
This is a pioneering position where the Business Manager provides direct support to fleet and customer representatives at the Ministry of Electricity and other stakeholders across different ministries of the Government of Iraq (Electricity, Oil, Transport, Supreme Marine Council, General Ports Company, South Gas Company, Oil Pipeline Company, etc.). The role is focused on developing, elevating and managing a collaborative in-country team while ensuring seamless integration and coordination with the wider team based in Dubai and Houston. The role involves ownership and management of commercial operations, business performance, project management and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for NES Fircroft's in-country operations in Iraq.
- Build and manage relationships with key government ministries including Electricity, Oil, Transport, and Marine entities.
- Develop, elevate, and manage a collaborative in-country team.
- Ensure seamless integration and coordination with regional offices in Dubai and Houston.
- Oversee commercial operations, business performance, and project management activities.
- Ensure compliance with local laws, regulations, and international standards for maritime safety and commerce.
- Drive business development by identifying new opportunities and expanding the client base across Iraqi government and private sector.
- Manage CSR initiatives and serve as a company advocate in the region.
- Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals for internal and government stakeholders.
- Present information and respond to questions from government bodies, clients, and the general public.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- At least 5-8 years of track record as a Business Manager for multinational energy companies.
- Experience with governmental administration and entities.
- Knowledge of international and regional legislation and standards for maritime safety and commerce.
- Knowledge of shipping and marine terminal operations in the region (preferred).
- Bilingual in English and Arabic business terms.
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to effectively present information to managers, clients, customers, and government bodies.
