About the Role

We are seeking a nuclear engineer to join our team at the Jupiter West Corporate office. In this role, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise in support of Pressurized Water Reactor (PWR) and Boiling Water Reactor (BWR) nuclear plants, specifically in the areas of core design, fuel management, and safety analyses.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate engineering activities under general guidance.
  • Provide direction to less-experienced engineers and technicians.
  • Apply nuclear regulations and standards to work assignments.
  • Act as a liaison to interfacing departments.
  • Perform engineering and analytical tasks to develop reliable, cost-effective recommendations.
  • Use advanced computer models to develop and study solution feasibility.
  • Prepare engineering documentation and assist with technical support for licensing and regulatory proceedings.
  • Ensure procured materials and services meet engineering specifications.
  • Consult with peer engineers to ensure solutions meet plant design requirements.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Nuclear, Chemical, or related field).
  • 4+ years of engineering experience.
  • Knowledge of NRC regulations and safety analysis requirements, particularly UFSAR Chapter 14/15 applications.
  • Familiarity with nuclear computer applications and engineering software.
  • Understanding of core design and analysis processes for PWR and BWR reactors.
  • Proficiency in Python or other object-oriented programming languages.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certifications

Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred) NRC-recognized training programs or certifications (preferred)
