Field Professional - Directional Driller II

Responsibilities

• Provide on-site supervision of the Directional Drilling (DD) process including projection of well path to predetermined target coordinates.
• Select and assemble Bottom Hole Assemblies (BHA), ensuring correct make-up torque, doping, and handling in accordance with plans.
• Operate DD computer software to provide advice and analysis to client representatives at the well site, including all survey calculations and well path projections.
• Update well profile plots and provide client representatives with accurate directional survey data.
• Complete daily DD reports, BHA performance reports, service tickets, and all relevant paperwork including KPI forms and End of Job Customer Surveys.
• Inspect all DD company equipment delivered on the work site and maintain records of dimensional data and condition.
• Interface with MWD engineers to ensure BHA compatibility and that planned operating parameters are within specification.
• Ensure all equipment is laid out after use in accordance with company procedures and manifested for backload at job end.
• Participate in performance improvement initiatives and lessons learned programs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline preferred.
• Minimum three years of field experience in Directional Drilling, L/MWD, or SDL, with at least six months in DD.
• Ability to read and interpret designed well plans, directional survey information, and other well site data.
• Good communication, arithmetic, data entry, and recording skills.
• Must possess relevant rig safety certificates.
