About the Role
Saudi Aramco is seeking a Process Engineer with extensive hands-on expertise in Utilities processes to join the Operation Engineering Solutions Department (OESD) under Global Manufacturing Excellence Organization. The role involves providing in-depth process engineering and operations expertise to monitor, optimize, and drive performance improvement programs for Utilities, including remote and on-site technical advisory support and benchmarking of utilities across refineries, NGLF, and petrochemical plants.
Responsibilities
- Conduct regular performance reviews of existing Utilities through key performance indicators (KPIs) representing optimum operability, profitability, reliability, and process safety
- Develop and present quarterly benchmarking reports with actionable improvement recommendations
- Provide hands-on support in implementing performance improvement initiatives, demonstrating measurable results in closing identified gaps
- Lead benchmarking and best practices exchange workshops among Global Manufacturing facilities and facilitate knowledge sharing and continuous improvement
- Deliver on-demand remote and field technical advisory support, including process design, troubleshooting, start-up/shutdown activities, and capacity test runs
- Provide detailed service reports for each support activity, highlighting facility needs, actions taken, results, and lessons learned
- Collaborate with Global Manufacturing facilities engineers to identify and implement cost optimization or process improvement initiatives focusing on minimal capital investment
- Conduct internal assessments on Utilities using Saudi Aramco engineering standard references and highlight deviations or better standards applied by affiliates
- Act as the overall coordinator for cascading and driving Global Manufacturing and Corporate programs for Utilities in operating facilities
- Participate in Business Plan development, coordinate with stakeholders for capital investments on assigned Utilities and support techno-economic evaluations
- Evaluate and recommend new Utilities technologies, coordinate with Central Engineering to facilitate field deployment
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related specialization; advanced degree preferred
- Minimum 15 years of total Utilities unit experience (process engineering and operations) with at least 10 years of hands-on experience in handling refinery utilities
- Experience in water desalination and boilers for steam generation
- Ability to optimize various utility systems, with specific examples of performance improvements achieved
- In-depth knowledge of major equipment suppliers and package units for Utilities
- Proven track record of conducting technical troubleshooting, start-up, shutdown, and capacity test runs for utility systems
- Strong proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools specific to Utilities performance metrics
- Strong management and coordination skills, with experience in stakeholder management
