About the Role

NextEra Energy Resources, one of America's largest wholesale electricity generators, is hiring a Production Clerk to support plant operations in Yarmouth, Maine. This wide-ranging administrative role spans document control, inventory, procurement, payroll, and SOX compliance — making it a strong fit for someone who thrives in a structured, operations-focused environment. Occasional travel is required.

Responsibilities

  • Support Fossil Department requirements through performance of all clerical and record keeping functions consistent with Company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure the site remains SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliant and report any discrepancies to supervisor for immediate follow-up.
  • Create all Purchase Orders below $25,000 in accordance with all Company policies and procedures using SAP.
  • Troubleshoot with vendors on invoice or purchase order questions and concerns.
  • Maintain and assist with site inventory including relief logs, min/max levels, vendor data, restocking, coding, and warehouse storage.
  • Manage all shipping and receiving operations and perform associated physical tasks.
  • Process Non-PO invoices.
  • Handle all aspects of payroll including input of timesheets, month-end accruals, extracting reports, and maintaining files.
  • Perform clerical functions including typing, operating personal computers, daily mail distribution, managing copier/printer needs, ordering office supplies, maintaining petty cash, and completing bargaining unit expense reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date computer skills to keep pace with software enhancements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; related vocational training preferred.
  • 1-3 years of accounting, payroll, or administrative office experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel.
  • Proficient knowledge and use of SAP software system.
  • Typing speed of at least 30 words per minute.
  • Strong reading comprehension, written communication, and organizational skills.
  • Passed clerical aptitude test.
