About the Role

NextEra Energy Resources is seeking a PV Solar Technician II to support the operations and maintenance of utility-scale photovoltaic solar systems at its Yellow Pine Solar facility in Nevada. This hands-on role is central to ensuring maximum uptime and reliability of clean energy infrastructure, requiring both electrical troubleshooting expertise and a strong commitment to safety.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine preventive maintenance activities on solar panels, battery storage systems, and associated equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and undertake corrective maintenance to identify and resolve system issues, ensuring maximum system uptime and efficiency.
  • Adhere to maintenance schedules and follow established procedures for inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and component replacements.
  • Utilize monitoring software and tools to regularly monitor and analyze system performance, identifying deviations and inefficiencies.
  • Generate performance reports and maintain accurate records of system performance, including energy production, equipment status, and maintenance activities.
  • Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and colleagues.
  • Adhere to environmental regulations and procedures during maintenance activities and waste management.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of O&M activities, including maintenance logs, work orders, and inventory records.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and other stakeholders regarding work progress, challenges, and recommendations.
  • Perform electrical and power electronics troubleshooting and repairs.
  • Operate heavy equipment as required for maintenance activities.
  • Supervise NEE employees and contractors as assigned.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance during all maintenance operations.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Trade school graduate or equivalent technical training preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience in solar PV operations and maintenance or related electrical/mechanical field.
  • Valid Driver's License (non-CDL) required.
  • Experience with monitoring software and performance analysis tools.
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Electrician license preferred (Licensed Electrician or Licensed Master Electrician).
