About the Role
Execute Electrical and routine first-line maintenance activities in the oil/gas field and ensure that facilities maintenance and integrity requirements are satisfied, ensuring project activities are executed safely, timely, and according to schedule by contractors and consultants.
Responsibilities
- Execute electrical and routine first-line maintenance activities across oil and gas facilities.
- Provide planned maintenance activities to the supervisor and perform quality control duties.
- Identify contractor non-compliance with HSE standards and ensure corrective actions are taken.
- Ensure availability for intervention activities and maintain a daily log of activities from job sites.
- Coordinate with the workshop Electrical team to repair generators and resolve power-related issues.
- Maintain all HV/LV equipment, UPS systems, generators, electric drives, protection relays, earthing, and lightning strike systems.
- Follow HSE rules and procedures, PTW requirements, and best practices while maintaining crude oil export pumps.
- Provide support in decommissioning, repair, installation, and commissioning of emergency dual fuel generators, UPS systems, switchgear, heater bundles, boilers, and thyristors.
- Manage day-to-day walk-around inspections of electrical units and report anomalies.
- Interface with government regulators and multiple stakeholders as required.
Qualifications
- OND/HND or Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Minimum 4 years of experience in oil and gas electrical maintenance.
- Knowledge of HV and LV electrical equipment, protection systems, and power distribution.
- Experience with UPS systems, generators, VFDs, and switchgear.
- Familiarity with Permit to Work (PTW) systems and isolation procedures.
- Strong communication and interface management skills when dealing with multiple parties including government regulators.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
