About the Role

NES Fircroft, a leading global engineering staffing provider, is placing a Supplier Quality Engineer II for a hybrid, long-term contract role in Orlando, FL with potential conversion to permanent. The position covers MV/LV electrical equipment suppliers across a broad scope including MCCs, switchgear, switchboards, panel boards, UPS systems, transformers, static excitation systems, static frequency converters, batteries and charging systems, e-houses, cables, and bus ducting.

Responsibilities

  • Perform supplier oversight and conduct inspections ensuring compliance with specifications and quality standards.
  • Execute visual and dimensional checks, weld and coating inspections, traceability and documentation review, and testing oversight including Functional Acceptance Testing (FAT).
  • Conduct transformer routine and type tests, MCC production and type tests, and similar equipment evaluations.
  • Conduct routine audits based on supplier risk categorization according to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements.
  • Identify supplier nonconformances and initiate containment activities.
  • Drive corrective actions and track closure.
  • Perform supplier evaluations using ongoing quality performance data.
  • Implement supplier quality improvement programs and risk mitigation strategies.
  • Support product and process qualification and supplier technical development.
  • Prepare periodic quality performance reports.
  • Ensure improvement actions are defined, executed, and monitored.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (equivalent experience accepted).
  • 10+ years of experience in Supplier Quality, Quality Management, or Engineering within MV/LV electrical systems and components.
  • Experience with supplier evaluation, qualification, product/process qualification, and technical supplier development.
  • Extensive knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, UL, and IEC standards.
  • ISO auditing experience; Lead Auditor certification strongly preferred.
  • Ability to travel up to 35% and maintain passport eligibility.
