About the Role

NES Qatar is looking to hire a Marine Shipping Coordinator to work alongside the Head of Marine Operations. You will be responsible for coordinating marine and road tanker shipping operations, ensuring efficient vessel scheduling, safe loading/discharging activities, and accurate documentation while maintaining compliance with safety and industry standards.

Responsibilities

  • Accept vessel nominations, confirm berth availability, and coordinate ship movements with agents and port authorities.
  • Verify Notice of Readiness conditions and manage laycan schedules and extensions.
  • Ensure safe, compliant methanol road tanker operations.
  • Monitor ETA notices and verify cargo readiness and stowage plans.
  • Inspect vessel suitability, including previous cargo history and cleanliness.
  • Coordinate with surveyors, labs, and internal teams to prepare loading plans.
  • Conduct ship/shore safety checks and oversee loading operations (flow rates, mooring, pressure, weather).
  • Maintain organized shipping, survey, and operational records.
  • Prepare technical and periodic reports ensuring data accuracy.
  • Review and issue letters of protest to protect company interests.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Logistics, Supply Chain, Marine Studies, or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience with chemical carriers in oil & gas/petrochemical operations
  • Strong knowledge of marine operations, shipping documentation, ISGOTT, and emergency response procedures

Certifications

STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) IMDG (International Maritime Dangerous Goods) certification ISGOTT (International Safety Guide for Oil Tankers and Terminals) familiarity OPRC (Oil Pollution Response and Containment) training (preferred)
